Fall ‘25 #5
Goal today was the prescribed article track with 10 articles. There are very tall weed masses at the farm where we track. I sighted yesterday obviously without walking what I thought would be a good position for Otis’ 10 article track. In the midst of laying it today I realized how deep and briery the weeds were. Otis had a staring away time during the track but did come back. His enthusiasm and interest waned in the high weeds so I called it after the 6th article. Looking at the video I think I should have stopped after the 5th article.

I think stopping early was smart. No need to dig a hole so deep that you can't get out of it. His indications were good early on. I would say that when you are teaching the road crossings, you can certainly support by following a little sooner rather than later. So "go with" a little sooner, until he is strong. Then hang back and play the line after he gets the idea. You did better moving up to 10 ft today in-between articles.
